With its dramatic peaks, pristine lakes, and sprawling meadows, the Tetons provide an idyllic backdrop for couples tying the knot with a romantic Jackson Hole elopement. As a wedding & elopement photographer in Jackson, WY, I have some personal favorites to share!

String Lake is one of the most diverse photo locations in Grand Teton National Park. With a beautiful lake, a bridge, and a couple nearby meadows, the photo options here are plentiful! I definitely recommend a stop here if you’re looking to capture a variety of scenes. Just be prepared to see other people as it’s a popular location!

This dramatic viewpoint often gets overlooked and is therefore one of the more quiet options in Grand Teton National Park. There’s plenty of room to spread out at the Mountain View Turnout, so you’ll likely be able to find a peaceful spot to get set up with your photographer. Plus the golden hour light here is just unreal!

If capturing photos next to the water is a priority, don’t miss out on a visit to the expansive shoreline of Jackson Lake. There is plenty of space to move around at Coulter Bay, so even if there are other people at the beach you’ll have no problem finding a spot to yourself. Plus, this photo stop tends to be less popular!

With most of the inner park road being closed during the winter, Taggart Lake is one of the easiest viewpoints to drive to when there’s snow on the ground. The location features easy access to a beautiful snowy field right at the base of the peaks, making for an epic backdrop!

Tucked behind Jackson Lake Lodge is a stunning walkway that takes you up a small hill. Being slightly higher than the valley floor allows for truly expansive views of the Tetons and Jackson Lake. If you plan to be in the northern part of Grand Teton National Park, this location is not to be missed!

The Cascade Canyon Turnout is a must-hit on your photo tour through Grand Teton National Park. With epic views of Cascade Canyon and plenty of space to move around, this location is popular for a reason. Just be prepared to see other people there and plan accordingly!

If you’re looking to get photos that feature the classic Teton skyline, Teton Point Turnout is one of my favorites. With easy access year round and being one of the closer scenic overlooks to town, this stop is both convenient and beautiful!

If your wedding is taking place in late September or early October, chances are high that you’ll want to get some beautiful fall colors in your photos. Oxbow Bend is a viewpoint right off the road with aspen and cottonwood trees that are glowing and golden during the right time of year.

If you’re the adventurous type, then the options for unique, one-of-a-kind photos are truly endless in Grand Teton National Park. Hiking to a backcountry location can be a fun way to create truly special photos with your partner! These types of photos require additional planning and careful photographer selection, but the extra effort can definitely pay off!

While The Wedding Tree is often used as a ceremony site for couples hosting a Jackson Hole elopement or micro-wedding, it’s also a beautiful photo location on it’s own! Being above the valley floor offers a unique perspective that’s hard to achieve with other drive-up locations within the National Park. Bonus: The wildflowers at this location are stunning in June!
I’m your girl! These are some of my favorite photo locations for elopements near Jackson Hole and the Tetons, but I have plenty more up my sleeve for you. I can’t wait to hear all about your big day — inquire today to get started!
